Medibank Uniform Case Study: Designs To You

Medibank were involved throughout the design process with ideas and inspiration around an abstract print theme. Design moodboards and garment samples made it easy to try out the prints during the development process.

Drawing inspiration from modern art, we created a vibrant and oversized abstract pattern using bold panels in Medibank’s brand colours. The large scale of the print not only creates statement pieces, but it also means that each garment looks unique – working back with Medibank’s focus on individuality.

The new Medibank print was used in soft knit tops and a wrap dress, and paired with custom check shirts in red and navy, as well as French navy suiting pieces. A bespoke polo shirt in Medibank’s signature red colour was added for more casual outfits.

Always looking to innovate, we also developed a new Milano knitwear range as a casual alternative to traditional suiting – The first of it’s kind in the Australian uniform industry. The remarkable stretch and recovery, durability, and colourfastness of Milano knitwear makes this fabric perfect for uniforms and incredibly comfortable to wear.

Before commencing the uniform roll out we organised a national roadshow so the staff can see the new range and try the garments on. Over three weeks our team of stylists traveled to many branches, large and small, and helped team members find their perfect fit.

The highlight of the uniform launch was a fashion show, complete with a catwalk, show bags and much excitement from all involved. Together with models, Medibank’s own team members took to the catwalk for a chance to express their own new look.

Thoughtfully curated, the new Medibank uniform collection was well received and has continued to evolve over the years. Every aspect of the range, from quality fabrics to garment silhouettes was carefully considered, ensuring that each and every staff member can feel proud of being part of Medibank’s history and future.
